The Role
8. The internship has been very enjoyable and rewarding. The team were warm and welcoming from day one. I have had a clear line of work, and have worked towards my set out deliverable, which I am in the process of currently delivering, I have had a large work load but its been both manageable and interesting.
8. I feel valued greatly, I contribute largely during the weekly team meetings, and it's clear that the objective and goal I'm working towards with my deliverable is important to the team and that my work and progress is both valued and important to the wider team's goals and aims.
10. My line manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was great, in allowing me to travel to different locations and open to answering any questions I had. However, the greatest support during my placement came courtesy of [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] went out of his way to make me feel comfortable within both the wider team and our smaller team, introducing me to key stakeholders and members of different departments within GI. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] also scheduled meetings every other day within the first few weeks, so as we could touch base, discuss what I was doing and working towards and for me to ask any questions I had. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was very supportive of my work, and was great to both be managed by and work with. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] made it clear what he wanted me to deliver and work towards during my 10 weeks within the team, and this clarity allowed me to get on with the task in hand and produce a deliverable that I'm very happy with.
10. I was very busy. With a perfect balance of independent work, meetings (Telephone) and face to face catch ups to keep me in the loop with everything that was going on within the team.
8. After the first few weeks when I was into the swing oft things I was left to my own devices to progress with the pieces of work assigned to me.
8. The stakeholder management skills I've learnt and built upon, along with my now wider understanding of the Insurance business and its role within the wider business will prove to be invaluable In the future
The Company
7. The office itself was reasonably quiet, however my team were all very chatty, and a good laugh.
My Team: 8. The set up within my team was pretty good. They had sorted out all my computer log on details, and my phone pin, so I didn't have to do much in the way of set up when I arrived which helped me settle in. Overall 4. However, In regard to the set up of the internship by Lloyds themselves, the fact you can't get a 10 week pass as an intern for the duration of your time with the bank during your internship is ludicrous. To the point in which, some 20-30 scholars, myself included, found ourselves in a 30 minute queue every morning to renew our security pass for the week (1 week passes are the longest passes that can be issued). This process wasted a lot of time and generally caused inconvenience every week for no real reason. I understand security is important, especially in the current climate, however something must be done to create a more convenient experience.
5. I wasn't even allowed a login key so as I could use my laptop on my home network and sporadically work from home, as I was told the subscription cost was 'too expensive', and after doing some digging I found that the subscription would cost merely £80 for the duration of my internship. This was disappointing and meant that I could not adhere to the companies 'flexible working' policy that so many of the other members of the team adhere to, which was very frustrating. However, I was afforded the privilege to travel down to Bristol and London to shadow members of other teams and widen my knowledge of their individual business areas and how they fit into the wider image of the business as a whole.

National Travel
9. I would actively seek out a job at Lloyds Banking Group, and would relish the opportunity to work within the organisation.
The Culture
9. Yes, the social scene was ever present, and I attended many events and parties within my team which were great for networking and socialising with other members of my team, and members of other teams and departments too.
7. Leeds is very reasonable, however as a city the prices of many things are elevated accordingly.
9. The nightlife was lively
3. Not really, no.
