The Role
The overall experience was very rewarding!
Most of the lads in research team are middle-aged men and they treat me like their own kid :)
Both my supervisor and mentor were very helpful in the sense that they provided me with sufficient access to relevant materials and filling in gaps on background knowledge.
I was assigned an individual project which enabled me to work at my own pace. However, there were deadlines and regular progress check sessions with my supervisor which kept me busy and on track.
The work really tested my ability to stand on my own two feet and come up with solutions with the help from both supervisors and mentor.
I did a research project, enjoyed it very much as it's related very much to the course I'm studying but I've decided not to do RnD in the future.
The Company
Normally there'll be empty seats here and there as many were on summer holiday / business trip.
Clear objective was given on my first day in the office and progress checks were made regularly.
I had to undergo a few trainings on HSSE and work ethics.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I passed assessed internship and now waiting for a job offer :)
The Culture
It's a fairly cheap area.
Not too great.
The internal Energie club organised events and activities outside of work for newbies. I've been to some of them and have enjoyed them so much.
