The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship.
Very valued, I feel very lucky to have had the team I was put with. They were friendly, welcoming and supportive of me and my development.
My manager and supervisor have been extremely helpful in making sure I get the most out of my internship. They have ensured I had a project to work on and have helped me with every step of my intern-graduate process.
I had the right balance, I was never bored but I was never overworked.
I would say I had some responsibility during my placement.
I will now be able to analyse data efficiently and have better use of excel which will definitely be useful in the future in whatever field of work I go into. The training I completed has allowed me to develop skills of risk management and operations which will be useful should I choose to go into this field and it will also help me in my role as Trip Advisor of the Law Society in my final year at University. It has given me confidence and self belief which will help me in my final year of university and for interview preparations.
The Company
Friendly and approachable. Everyone was welcoming and we had a few social events outside of the office which made it a fun atmosphere.
I thought the internship as a whole was very well organised, I had a project to work in and once I was into the routine of it I felt like this went well as it gave me a purpose to my day.
The internship as a whole is a platform for training and development so I would say LBG invested a lot into our training. I was able to complete modules on Discover Learning in areas that interested me and my core modules too.
I would say there is a future for me at Lloyds as I love the culture and people, which makes it easier to go to work each day. I haven't yet had an interview for my graduate scheme, but hopefully if that goes well I will be back here in the future.
The Culture
There was amongst other interns but I did not really engage with this as the stuff they were interested in wasn't my 'cup-of-tea'
Cost of living was relatively cheap, I roughly spent about £30 on a weekly shop and didn't have to pay rent. I went home most weekends due to other work commitments so I never really got a feel for the cost of socialising.
I didn't go out during my internship as I was here to work and I went home most weekends.
Not that I was aware of
