The Role
I found the work that I was allocated really interesting, it was never admin related or mundane
I felt really valued because I was given a lot of responsibility, which not only made me feel competent, but also like I added value.
Every task I was set was followed by a series of mini catch-up's to check if I needed any assistance and I was given access to a lot of online resources which was also really helpful for the work.
My workload was medium to busy on a daily basis.
A lot, the work that I produce was for clients
I have learned how to better write emails and therefore communicate better with me colleagues which will help me in my last year of university. I have also learned how tax legislation applies in the real world therefore it will be insightful to learn about how this affects the economy in my third year.
The Company
Relaxed, on Fridays we could dress down and there was no rigid time structure that you had to follow.
Very well organised. Week 1 & 2 were very well organised. The first week consisted of training by people from all the different departments so we could learn more about the nature of the work. There was a lot of evening socials planned after work for us to get to know our colleagues better as well. The second week consisted of working and attending a national intern conference set up by the company so we could further expand our network. Following this, the rest of the internship was spent completing work set by managers and attending client meetings.
There was a lot of investment in the interns. An example of this would be that managers would take the time to give you feedback after the work you completed so you would know what areas you would need to improve on. Also, the company paid for us to go to a 2 day workshop in their national training centre and spend the night there. All travel and subsistence costs were covered.

I was given an offer of intent for a graduate position with them!
The Culture
Yes everyone was really sociable and there was an annual football tournament held by the company that we got invited to go to.
The office was based in Moorgate, London. It was expensive to socialise in this area.
It was good, there are at least 2 rooftop bars surrounding the office and Shoreditch is 5 minutes away.
Yes, from drinks on a Friday afternoon to annual national football tournaments.
