The Role
I had a fantastic year at ProspectSoft. The work I did was helping customers which is always rewarding; the support from colleagues was amazing and the work was never dull or routine.
ProspectSoft is a family that keeps on giving after working hours. The people you work with become more like friends that employers and its great to be able to both work and relax with them.
ProspectSoft run the first month of the placement as training for new employees which overlaps with the previous placements final month. This means that it is possible to shadow the person you are replacing as well as being given great guidance before you start work. As for the managers themselves I would say that my manager was simply amazing. The support he gave me and my colleagues was top notch and I felt like he really listened to me. Its great to have a manager that is really on your side.
Every day was jam packed with different things to do and new challenges to overcome. The work was always varied and kept me on my toes.
During the placement I was given as many responsibilities as I could handle. As long as you are comfortable with and able to take on new challenges there is no limit to what you are allowed to do.
Another reason ProspectSoft is a great place is start is they run a scheme called the ProspectSoft Academies. This is a list of criteria that need to be accomplished by the end of the placement that are marked by the placements manager. The idea is that it provides useful proof of ability to prospective employers and means that the placements manager knows if there are areas in the placement that aren't fulfilled.
The Company
Because ProspectSoft employ so many people from their placement schemes most of your colleagues are around the same age as you. The office is almost always a casual and fun place to work.
With the month training at the start of the placement and regular performance meetings it always felt like ProspectSoft cared about my progress and performance. The ProspectSoft academies for example are purely for the placement student benefit and are meant to make sure the placement gets the most out of their year in industry.
As has been mentioned the months training, ProspectSoft academies and general support and guidance have made me feel like I have developed both personally and professionally.
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a job back with ProspectSoft when I graduate and I fully intent to return there.
The Culture
There are so many other placements and colleagues of a similar age that the Social side of ProspectSoft is amazing.
