The Role
It was amazing, I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I ever would.
Very valued, they treat interns as they would treatb any other employee
Everyone in the office was willing to provide you help and take time out of their day to explain anything to you
Very busy, but I enjoy being busy and I was never forced to stay late
They give you full responsibility for your own work, you get put on client engagements just like all other employees
I learnt a lot in a very short time, most of which I will continue to use througohut my professional career.
The Company
The general atmosphere is brilliant. EY operate a hot desk system so you get to meet a lot of new people every day and not a single person I have met during my time here has not been welcoming and friendly. The employees at EY very quickly become your friends, a lot of whom will remian friends for life. They attend social events together and have a laugh in the office whilst remaining highly productive.
I personally found it to be very well organised. We were always told well in advance what we had to do and what was expected of us, The interview process was clear and well set out as well. They have a dedicated Summer Internship team who run events and also ensure the smooth running of your day to day experiences whilst at EY
All of the employees are willing to invest their time into helping you learn and grow as an individual. You can ask anyone anything at any time you choose They take you to training events, induction events and all of this is paid for by the firm.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Very good for interns. They explcitly say at the beginning that they have a full time grad job for all of the interns provided that you can demonstrate in your 6 week experiecne that you will be capable of doing work and fit in with the team.
The Culture
Yes, we went out for drinks at least once a weak and senior employees were always happy to attend and often offered to pay for the drinks as well.
Socialising was very expensive being in the centre of London. I found drinks at events to be ridiculous prices. Saying that it was often covered by the firm or even colleagues. In terms of living I stayed at home so couldnt really comment but again being in London I imagine it was very expensive.
Great. I mean its the middle of London so theres so many bars and clubs to go to should you feel inclind to.
Plenty. The EY social committee invited you to events and there are sports teams and charity work evetns that are very easy to get involved in.
