The Role
I really enjoyed my internship with Lloyds Banking Group. Throughout the ten weeks with them, I was given so many incredible opportunities and learned so much. I have gained many new skills and met so many new people - my network has expanded greatly! I will be sad to leave my internship at the end of the Summer!
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. From the first moment I stepped through the door on day one, I already felt like I was part of the team. My colleagues listened to things I had to say and I felt like my contributions in meetings were valued and appreciated.
I have been given a huge amount of support right throughout my internship. I have five people who have been allocated to me that I can go to and ask directly for support and advice. But the atmosphere in the office means you feel comfortable going and asking everyone else for help too.
I have literally not stopped! I have been so busy and I love that! There is always work to do and if you finish what you’ve been assigned, you can just ask a colleague if you can help them out with what they are doing and they are more than happy to show you what they’re working on and help you learn new skills.
I feel like I have been given a high level of responsibility. I have been given real work to do and this has made me feel like a valued member of the team. I am proud that my work has contributed to projects the team has been working on and I’m looking forward to contributing more work!
The skills I have learned in my internship will help me in my degree studies and beyond. I have learned how to prioritise the things that really matter and how to produce my best piece of work in a short space of time. I think this will be really useful in my final year at university.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office is fun and the people are all so lovely. There is a real buzz in the office as everyone has always got so much work to do but we work together as a team to make sure everything gets done on time. LBG is a wonderful place to work.
I don’t think I can say enough about how well organised my internship was – it was fantastic!! The 10 weeks were well structured and I have been involved in meetings and activities with a wide range of colleagues from day one. We had a week of induction activities – we learned lots and had fun while doing it.
The company invested heavily in training us and helping us with our personal development. They have made sure we have had all the relevant training and more. We have been taught new things, we have learned on the job and the opportunities LBG has provided us with have allowed us to develop and learn new things that we would not have had the chance to learn elsewhere.

Being employed by Lloyds Banking Group in the future would make me incredible happy. They are a brilliant bank with a great work ethic and the best values. I would enjoy working here because it is a nice friendly place to work. I enjoy the work I am doing and would enjoy doing it in the future.
The Culture
I got on well with the other interns and scholars. There was a really friendly atmosphere between us all.
Average student prices apply for shopping, bills and living. However, going out for a night out in Edinburgh can be expensive at the weekend.
It was good. Edinburgh nightlife is fun and friendly.
not really.
