The Role
Environment was nice, good working place, however internship over the summer in audit isn't great timing due to it being the quiet season and due to sometimes there being a lack of work.
Everyone is very friendly, but people don't have much work to do themselves at the moment and so struggle to find work to give you.
My Counsellor was great, very friendly and open and made me feel at ease if I wanted to ask any questions.
The main problem, and something I feel I was unlucky about, I don't think the other interns had as little to do as me.
Not that much but seeing as we had no prior experience I don't think you can expect to have that much responsibility!
The skills I picked up may not be applicable to my degree, but if I were to be offered a job it would definitely give me a head start over people who hadn't done an internship, and you don't realise you're picking up the skills until people ask you to do tasks and you are able to do them without explanation.
The Company
Atmosphere was a positive, set up of the office was nice and no one was intimidating, everyone always willing to answer any questions.
I feel the interns were hired not because there was work to do just because it is the done thing to hire interns and move them through to the grad scheme, no clear layout to our 6 weeks.
Lots of web based learning and people very happy to explain things to you and coach you through different tasks.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Working from home
All interns are expected to progress through to the grad scheme.
The Culture
Yes all interns are keen to socialize, however due to audit often being out the office it is hard to have a big social as people are rarely in the same place.
