The Role
AstraZeneca was a really friendly environment, very accommodating for students including giving me plenty of time to do the required university work on my placement year
Felt like a real team member and had meaningful work to do
Well supervised, learnt lots of things I might not have picked up during a year at University
Sometimes work was a bit slow due to nature of the project I was working on
Given responsibility for my own work and planning etc
Fantastic way to enhance my chemistry and lab skills for the future as well as team work and problem solving
The Company
Everyone was friendly and there were lots of other placement students at the site
Very well organised in terms of recruitment, supervision etc
Considering the pharmaceutical career after a PhD
Subsidised/Company Gym
The Culture
Very friendly students!
Macclesfield is cheap and cheerful
Not muc of a nightlife person but told it was a bit dull
