  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Not very busy, but not free either. There are information talks that HR arranges for their placement and internship candidates to give them an insight into the different divisions in Nomura, what their roles and responsibilities are and what their aim for the future is. There is also work set by the manager to understand more about the role I am interning in at the moment.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Just as much responsibility as any other member in the team. I work on on-going real projects which means that I need to be careful when submitting work on to the online environment. The amount of responsibility for the work I have done is not too much because there is someone in the team that is willing to help teach you to understand if you have made any mistakes. After all, making mistakes is all part of the learning process.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The HR was organised from the very start to the end. At the beginning, they always made sure to keep me updated on the progress of my application. They are easily reachable whenever I had any questions or concerns. After accepting the internship, they made sure to arrange networking events to meet the rest of the placements/interns and to meet some of the staff members. While on the placement, they arranged talks for us to get to know Nomura and the divisions they have available, which gave us a chance to explore a bit more.
