The Role
I really enjoyed my internship with FDM. I've worked for their London office, it's been very lovely. The staff is friendly, everyone is really keen to help you progress.
I've worked within the marketing department and my colleagues were really welcoming and helpful.
I've meet with my line manager regularly and she was always available for me whenever I had concerns or questions.
Within the marketing team, the work varies on a daily basis but we're usually always fast paced and busy. Everyday is different and you will be able to meet people form all backgrounds and with different expertise.
As part of the internship overall, we had to manage a project which has been presented to the board of directors. Within the marketing team, I've had the chance to participate in different projects. I have written content for the website blogs, profiles and some PR. For our advertising channels, I have done some market research for out of home advertising and liaised with external stakeholders to secure costs and bookings for Glasgow and Leeds. I have also been monitoring content to ensure consistency across our Getting Back to Business media partners. I have also assisted our marketing events executive in different events and assisted the designers in video and photo shoots. I have venue sourced and liaised with all stakeholders to secure bookings of two of our consultant parties. I have also had admin marketing duties. I have also had the opportunity to do many social media takeover on Instagram and Snapchat.
This experience has really helped me figure out the career I want to pursue. It definitely allowed me to gain many skills which will be invaluable for me in my last year at uni.
