    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Halifax. I was placed in the Business Development & Planning MDO where my team were extremely welcoming and helped me get into their business from day one. Overall I felt very comfortable and enjoyed coming to work everyday.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were happy to answer any question or query, big or small, and would go out of their way to find the answer. My line manager was beside me every step of the way and never left me unattended without prepping me with future work and support.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager give me an overall insight into all of her work and tasks. She got me involved in all tasks and would let me work independently but at my call would give me tremendous support and advise when needed.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Everyday I had some task that I could be working on. If I finished a task set by my line manager when she was still busy to give me additional work I would have other aspects of work to catch up on, e.g. the charity challenge. There was never a day when my line manager would let me sit idle.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was encouraged to work independently and do my own personal research for the tasks given to me. However, I understood that because of my short time period I could not possible take full responsibility for certain things.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed many skills over the past few weeks, I have industrialised appropriate communication skills both verbal and written. Furthermore, I've demonstrated the ability to take lead of certain events and co-ordinate activities that have resulted in very positive experiences. These skills will aid me in my future studies and beyond. I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity to develop and I will use these skills to my full advantage in the future.
