The Role
I really enjoyed it - 8 weeks is the perfect length for a summer internship, the people are very nice, and I learned some useful skills. The projects that we were given to work on are good to go on a CV.
We were told that our work was really appreciated, and people were always interested in what we were doing, which was nice.
There were always people available to offer advice when asked.
We had a decent amount of work to do, but since our projects lasted for the whole internship we had a lot of flexibility with our time, so we weren't overburdened at any point.
We were given a sizeable budget for our project, and a lot of independence if we wanted it (there were always people around to help, though). Our projects were presented to the directors at the end.
The skills learned will be very useful in any workplace and are very good to put on a CV/LinkedIn. The IT training in particular, although not directly relevant to my degree, is very sought-after by graduate employers.
The Company
Everyone is very friendly and relaxed (and young!).
There was a clear, well-prepared team in charge of organising the internship scheme.
We were allowed to attend whatever training courses we wanted, for free! We also had access to all of the resources to practise on.
There are lots of opportunities for future employment.
The Culture
Everyone was friendly and chatty, although it was difficult to get everyone together because many people lived far away (typical London commuting).
It's London - everything is expensive.
Again, it's London, so there's a lot to do.
We went to a couple of social evenings, but there weren't loads of organised activities.
