The Role
Extremely enjoyable experience overall. Expect a steep learning curve and a lot of self educating on some things within your role. There is a lot of autonomy in the work that I did, which was stimulating and had scope for applying myself.
Extremely valued and felt like I was part of the team rather than a temporary intern. Generally, the people at Fidelity International are easy to get along with and are more than willing to show you how things work.
Whenever I needed support or needed to ask a question, people are very open to answering your questions.
Some days were very quiet whilst others were busy.
A fair amount of responsibility given the nature of the job.
The skills and understanding of how a leading investment management company works from an internal standpoint is something that will make me stand out from my peers,
The Company
It was what you made of it. People are very busy but are easy to talk to/
The assessment centre was intellectually stimulating, and the internship's structure was well panned out.
As much training as you wanted, you could receive (depending on the nature of your job of course). I certainly feel like the company invested a lot of resources in helping me to hone my technical skillset.
Subsidised Canteen
I would certainly want to work at FIL after graduating university.
The Culture
London is expensive but you have to learn to budget, which is a skill in itself.
