The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the internship and the 6 weeks provided a great insight in to a career in audit.
Management were incredibly friendly at all levels and went above and beyond to explain tasks and offer additional explanation of relevant information
I was busy with client work for the duration of the internship
Although the tasks I was given did not carry a huge amount of responsibility, I was trusted to hold meetings with the client one-on-one
Throughout the internship I learnt a huge number of skills, particularly in performing tasks in excel and other relevant softwares. These will be greatly beneficial to my future career in audit.
The Company
The office is an incredibly friendly and open environment. You mix with colleagues from all levels throughout the day and the open plan/hot desk arrangement is great for networking
The fundamental organization in terms of providing contacts, a timetable and equipment was excellent. However not everything went to plan and the recovery of this was less well organized. For example not all interns worked on the clients they were originally booked on as things often change around to meet demand. It can be argued, however, that this is a true reflection of what a post-graduate career in audit is like, and therefore it is good to gain this experience at an early level
Colleagues at all levels invested a huge amount of time to benefit our personal and professional development

Company Parties/Events
Throughout my time I have developed a great feel for not only a future career in audit, but also a future career with EY. The office atmosphere and variety that the career provides is hugely appealing
The Culture
Definitely, I regularly met up with other interns throughout the duration of the internship - even when I had spent the day on client site. Most, if not all, interns were also invited to attend team/company socials too.
There was no immediate cost to me as I commuted from home. It goes without saying that living in London is very expensive - although socializing did not cost a lot at all, there were a lot of free drinks involved.
The nightlife in London is excellent, there is more than enough choice
Yes - there are many different networks, including sports clubs that you can get involved with during the internship. There is also the EY foundation which I've learnt a lot about and sounds very exciting to get involved with as a grad.
