The Role
As you work in small teams, every person has their own responsibilities and your input is extremely valuable.
You are supported through out by both the internship managers and the specific project mentors.
Your project is the sole responsibility of your team so there is always something to be doing. I was busy throughout my internship with a variety of work.
It is down to your team to make the project a success, knowing you are really 'running the show' keeps up the motivation and energy in the intern office.
getting thrown in at the deep end was tough but at the end of the twelve weeks the range of skills you have improved is great.

The internship gives you insight into the real range of jobs at IBM whilst also helping you discover where you would fit best. I am hopefully to be returning to IBM after graduation.
The Culture
We all lived and worked together for 12 weeks straight so there was plenty of time for social interaction!
IBM covers your accommodation for the entire internship. We were in student halls with large kitchens so we were still able to cook for ourselves keeping living costs to a minimal.
We didn't venture into town much for nightlife.
The are many activities going on within IBM and around that you could get involved in but the internship keeps you pretty busy!
