The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed the placement, I loved the range of experiences we were given throughout. Such as the training week, ESG project, intern talks with the SLT team and inter-division talks.
I felt very valued. Throughout the internship I was given work which did have a positive impact for my team, furthermore as I became more competent I was given more and more responsibility.
There was a brilliant network within my division for support. I had a buddy, mentor and manager, all of which were very helpful whenever I was stuck on work. More importantly, they all provided excellent feedback on my work which really helped me to improve my quality of work.
I was quite busy throughout the internship, however good time management skills did make it possible to complete all the tasks I was set.
As the weeks progressed I was given more and more responsibility. The increased responsibility and independence really built up my confidence and motivated me massively.
The excel/analytical skills I have gained will massively help me with my degree of Mechanical Engineering. Furthermore, the work I have done will act as a very good base of understanding for the training camp in Charlotte next year, should I receive an offer.
The Company
Friendly and approachable. I was never too scared to ask a question.
Very well organised, I always had something to do which would benefit both myself and the team.
My manager, buddy and mentor spent a lot of time developing my skills.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, I would very much like to receive an offer.
The Culture
Within my division all of the interns got on very well. Every day we would have lunch together and occasionally we would go for drinks after work.
London is expensive so relatively high compared to other areas of the UK.
Lots of fun bars for after work.
Yes I took part in lots of volunteering and touch rugby, all of which were put on by the bank.
