The Role
I really enjoyed this internship- having the chance to interact with senior management, who were willing to share their career path and deliver tips to you on how best you can take advantage of the opportunity given, vast exposure to research and training which connects you better to the on-the-job experience, meeting people from all over the world with diverse backgrounds that you can learn a lot from and appreciate culture. The extra activities the bank is involved in such as sports, volunteering, charity fundraising, etc. exposed me to a lot.
This company is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds bringing about a good blend of people you interact with. Everyone is treated equally and given a chance to be heard.
My supervisor was super supportive; always ready to listen to me and explain the work in detail. All questions were welcomed and it created a cordial environment
Once you come on-board, you are treated as a normal employee; hence work was given to me from day one and I had to work on multiple projects at a time, which gave me a good experience
Responsibility was given to me in a way that made me feel confident of myself as my supervisor trusted that I will deliver quality output
This opportunity brought me out of my comfort zone and improved my skills on networking, organizational skills, technical knowledge (especially on traded products) and how the bank as a whole interacts with the world. These are skills which are much needed for a lifetime
