The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at ProspectSoft! It was a brilliant place to work with great people and supportive managers. Working in an SME meant that I was given more responsibilities and was able to be involved in a variety of projects.
Everybody at ProspectSoft was very welcoming at the beginning of the year and quickly became friends. I was made to feel like a real part of the team and valued in my role. My efforts and successes were praised and I was given encouragement by the whole team when feeling unconfident in particular tasks. The team were brilliant and I felt as if I was a part of a family, I wasn't afraid to ask questions and seek guidance when unsure of what to do.
Although I was working in a highly busy Client Services department where the Account Managers and Client Services Director were regularly out of the office, I was still given the time and support and guidance that I needed. Through the year I had 3 structured appraisals with my manager who was always happy to answer any questions and also gave constructive criticism when needed which I felt was very useful and helped me progress throughout the year.
I was never short of tasks to do at ProspectSoft and every day was different. I was heavily involved in a variety of projects away from my core role in the Client Services department and thoroughly enjoyed all the responsibilities I was given! Although everyday was busy there was a definite work hard play hard atmosphere in the office, so no day was dull!
I was given plenty of responsibilities through the duration of my placement and was able to get heavily involved and manage a variety of projects.
Coming back to university, I feel like I have a much greater understanding of how a business runs and can relate theories to day to day running at ProspectSoft. I now also have more confidence in asking and answering questions in lectures and seminars.
The Company
Brilliant! Not a dull moment.
There was a set appraisal and academy scheme which was really useful to track my progression through the year and is now helpful towards my university assignments. The first month at ProspectSoft consisted of an intense training programme, it was surprising how much I had learnt in the space of a month!
Through the structured scheme, the company continued to support me and provided additional training whenever needed.

I have been offered an interview with ProspectSoft, with the hope of returning after completing my degree.
The Culture
There was a good social scene at ProspectSoft with many outgoing people, so nights out were regular.
I lived at home during my placement year and commuted to work. However nights out were generally in nearby oxford which were lots of fun! and I always had somewhere to stay thanks to my colleagues.
As above, nights out were generally held in nearby Oxford or High Wycombe and were always a lot of fun!
There were plenty of social opportunities and everyone was always up for a drink after work!
