The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent on the commercial Real Estate internship programme in 2017 with Cushman and Wakefield. It was very beneficial for starting my masters in Real Estate in September. I also had the opportunity to extend my internship by two weeks after the four weeks which allowed me to gain more experience.
Yes I did feel valued by both my fellow colleagues and other interns.
Yes was given support throughout the internship. On day one all the interns had some introductory talks which was insightful not only into the company but the different departments in the company. This day was very well structured. Each intern was given a buddy in their team from the start who was very approachable, as well as other fellow colleagues who were happy to answer questions and explain aspects of the work I was doing if I did not understand.
I had a good balance of work throughout the internship. Some says there was more work than others, depending on the extent of tasks and the deadlines which we were given. There was always enough work to do and someone in your team always had a task for you to complete. I also joined fellow colleagues on inspections of sites in London.
Yes my skills did develop throughout the internship, I received specific training relating to the team I was working in, such as particular software's etc which they use. This will benefit me next year and in my future career in property. I could not recommend the experience I had at Cushman and Wakefield enough to anyone.
The Company
The internship was very well organised before and during. From the start of the application process, Cushman and Wakefield's application process was more organised than other competitors. During the internship process
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Yes future employment prospects are very appealing within Cushman and Wakefield. The internship allows you to gain an insight into the company and a department in the company.
The Culture
There was a good social scene throughout the internship. On the first week the HR team organised a drinks event for the interns and we also had an opportunity to meet other graduates from other departments. After this we organised socials ourselves. There was also social events within my team.
Relatively expensive as the internship was located in Central London. Since not living in London I had to rent in private university halls. I would recommend anyone looking for accommodation to look at university halls to rent throughout the summer, as they provide short stay accommodation in central London locations. Therefore I did not have to commute unlike some fellow interns and was able to make the most of my internship.
good, lots of bars and pubs.
Yes there were other opportunities outside of work. I managed to play netball for Cushman and Wakefield a couple of times. This allowed me to meet staff from the City office and from other teams. I would definitely recommend anyone to get involved in the sports teams at Cushman and Wakefield.
