The Role
A great opportunity working for one of the top firms on some of the most exciting projects. There's only so much one can do within a short time frame, but based on the number of projects I was involved in, it is fair to say I did a lot, which should help in my development.
A team of brilliant minds and it showed. Staff were willing to help and clarify things; if not possible at the time, direct you to the right places or person
Same as above, given tasks to do and feedback given. Would reassign or direct you to the right people to ensure you remain busy (that is, if you want to, which I wanted to)
Periods of highs and lows but I sought out tasks and staff were helpful in assigning me. Some tasks are exciting, some you don't really want to do but you have to, just like in Uni.
Given a fair amount of work to do considering the time frame. Got busy especially towards the end of the placement, so I assume they were feeling me out initially.
New software such as ROBOT and safe learned. REVIT training also provided. I didnt really do hand calculations but other interns did. So each persons experience varies depending on your manager and the tasks available or assigned. Overall, these skills should serve me well going forward
The Company
A mix of relaxed and serious, periods of highs and lows. So it varies, generally not a tense environment but a conducive one.
Not sure how to answer this, but I believe it was well organised.
A REVIT training course was provided....not too sure how it works for graduates but most of my training was on the job
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
Have to wait and see.... A nice company to work for though.
The Culture
Several events including lunch, BBQs etc. were organised
Lol...it's London but I still love it though.
Typical London life...'24hr' tube on weekends.
Yes but I mostly did my own thing. Many activities and sports are organised during lunch breaks and after work, so it's always worth trying at least one.
