The Role
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was welcoming and warm. My whole team were very chatty and great company. They helped me when I was stuck and even gave me lifts back sometimes. There were numerous charity cake sales and free fruit every day- it was a great atmosphere to work in.
The internship was so organised, from the accommodation to any group activities we had outside of the office. I couldn't have asked for anything more. If you ever had a problem it was easy to get hold of someone and I had the smoothest transition the whole way through the internship.
The company invested so much into us as a cohort! We had presentation training, excel training, and a team development day to name a few. My marketing stream had trips to the creative agencies in London in order to expose us to their world. By providing us with accommodation it also helped us all make friends with the other interns as we were all together which really made the experience.

Very appealing. I now have an idea of how the business runs. I really enjoyed working there over the summer and would jump at the opportunity to work there again. I was most impressed by the organisation of the whole experience and how much time and money Centrica invested in our personal development.
The Culture
All the interns lived together in Royal Holloway University (those based in Staines and Windsor) and hence there was a great social scene. We all ate together in our flats and socialised at weekends. I had a great time as they were all so friendly and willing to get involved!
The cost of living was pretty low as we had free accommodation provided for us which was incredible. London was a 40 minute train ride away which was perfect for weekends. Windsor is also very close as well as Thorpe Park so there was loads to do!
The nightlight in Staines and Egham was pretty much non existent, however all the interns would go to Windsor together which was so much fun! We visited the local pubs in Egham and Turtle Bay in Staines after work some days. For most people this was more than sufficient.
