The Role
It was a great learning experience, I learned a lot about how the company worked, and the people there were amazing. It was a great atmosphere to work in and I would do it again. However it was stressful and they expected the work to be the highest quality consistently, whilst also giving you menial tasks.
They were great to talk to, however there was always that gap in respect, and sometimes it did feel like they were hassled by you (unless it was your direct line manager). There were some scenarios from other interns where their line manager was hostile if things didn't go their way, however I never experienced anything close to that
At the start they were constantly helpful, providing help with tasks, but after that it was your own ship. So if you're the sort of person who likes that then great, however in a strange way they wanted you to work by yourself but also stay in constant contact.
I was always busy, however some other interns in other departments were bored 90% of the time. So it purely depended on your manager
I was given deadlines and stressed to complete tasks by then. However it did feel like they limited the responsibility and would take over if they wanted something done differently.
The skills I leaned are nothing like the skills I would gain in a classroom, and I'll always be appreciative of the time I've spent here.
The Company
Amazing, everyone was incredible friendly everywhere and I loved that aspect.
50/50 really, equipment wasn't organised for everyone, i spent the first 2 days on the phone to IT about issues, and training never worked properly.
There was always training to do, some of it optional, however most of the training would be reserved for grad program.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Incredibly, however the ring-fencing can limit you to one part of the business, so if you want to do something in a different part, well good luck with that.
The Culture
Absolutely, I genuinely made some friends for life, however that can always be dependent on your workload and other factors.
High, if you're here for under 6 months prepare to get a lot of no replies from landlords. But there are great bars and lots of fun to have
In Canary Wharf no, but central London is a great time. Quite expensive though.
Never did anything outside of work, but got to do things during work.
