The Role
Really fun place to work. They give you the freedom to challenge ideas and implement what you think into how your area operates
Colleagues were respectful, and respected my role to the team. Would regularly ask me for updates and give me work to do, in expectance that it will be completed properly. Friendly vibe across the bank.
Line manager was very supportive. Never felt like I didn't have support from my LM in my time there
On a day to day basis my tasks would vary, however as it is an internship there is always things to be doing away from the desk, that I filled my time with during quiet times, such as speaker series or presentations around the bank.
Was allowed to pass judgment and make decision on my own on a number of occasions
These skills will be vital in assisting me in my degree. Learnt how to code VBA and use excel on an advance level. Also allowed me to enhance my interpersonal skills.
The Company
Very calm, relaxed and airy. Everyone knew the tasks they had to do, but was always willing to have a laugh too.
Very well organized. Many sessions were planned. Event and ongoing were well communicated to me.
There were a number of leadership sessions and eLearning which were free. these enabled me to develop myself personally away from my desk.
Company Parties/Events
There a re a range of different jobs available, and with BREXIT, these are both on shore and off shore. Also UBS has good flexibility between roles, allowing for a wide range of future employment prospects to be available to me.
The Culture
Yeah, the interns regularly went out on Fridays to socialize, and we regularly had lunch together. All very friendly and respectful in line with the business culture.
Very easy over the 9 weeks it cost me £130 travel to get between work and home. So quite affordable.
Decent, always something going on, on Thursdays and Fridays.
Definitely, from volunteering, to social events, if you wanted to get involved in activates there were many opportunities.
