The Role
Really enjoyed the programme. I had a lot of responsibility from week 1 - building models, analysing companies and industries, and other ad hoc tasks.
I felt valued indeed. The work I was doing was directly used to aid in the making of investment decisions. Additionally, my opinion on management teams we met and recent news on companies owned by the funds was often requested.
I was greatly supported by my team!
Well, I was quite busy - but this is more so because I wanted to be. I was proactive in seeking challenging work, therefore I got challenging work - this kept me busy throughout the internship.
I was amazed at how much I was entrusted to do as an intern. I helped the team prepare for and attended many management meetings, solely held meetings/calls with sell-side analysts from across the globe, asked to analyse an entire sector and present an interesting investment idea to the team.
I've completely recalibrated my understanding of what it means to have good attention to detail ... in addition to core excel and coding skills, I have learnt a lot during the internship.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere at M&G - more so than other large corporates I've worked for.
Well organised in my opinion - very good socials organised by HR throughout so you get to know your peers very well!
During the internship, we had insight sessions with different teams from across the investment side as well as the commercial and technology areas. This was very insightful and enabled us to learn more about the business as a whole.
Company Parties/Events
Will accept a role if I get an offer!
The Culture
Yes - a self-nominated social secretary among the peer group organised everything.
I lived with family :-)
Camden ... need I say more?
Yes - primarily football hosted by various teams.
