The Role
I have genuinely enjoyed my internship experience. The program has allowed me to interact with multiple teams from across the bank. Through my exchanges with others, I now have a better understanding of how each team helps the bank. Additionally, I was lucky to be placed with strong teams. Both teams motivated me to do my best and were always willing to answer my questions.
Rarely did I feel like just "the intern". My teams respected my opinions and gave me projects that actually needed to be completed. Having that responsibility motivated me to produce a high-quality product.
The support I was given differed from the first and second desks I sat with. In one of my teams, I felt a stronger connection with senior management and my supervisor. Overall, both desks did a great job supporting and offering guidance though.
My daily schedule was very different during each rotation. Both required much self-initiation. However, I was usually able to keep myself occupied and my team was always willing to offer suggestions on ways to spend my time or who I should connect with.
I was given much more responsibility than I expected. I appreciated being given relevant projects. As I mentioned in a previous response, this motivated me to produce high-quality work. I felt comfortable with the amount of responsibility I was given and felt it appropriate for an intern.
As I hope to begin working after graduation in one of the teams I interned with right after graduating next May, the skills I developed should help me a great deal. Though the rotations only allowed me to observe each team for a maximum of four weeks, I believe I have developed a strong foundation of knowledge.
The Company
I was comfortable with the office's general atmosphere. Though I would note that each team's specific "atmosphere" differed from one another, the general atmosphere was conducive to work and collaboration. I appreciated the energy some of the teams displayed and could tell the people I worked with enjoyed their job.
The program was organized well. I appreciated HR sending consistent reminders and saving events into my calendar. When I arrived at the intern events, HR was usually there to make sure the event started and ended smoothly.
I think the firm did an adequate in terms of personal training and development. It would have been nice to have a more comprehensive training program. I appreciate having one week to get an overview of the different teams around the team; however, it would also have been nice to receive a more comprehensive overview of the team we were about to start working with. The breakfasts with senior management were much appreciated.

I hope I get an offer with the team. I have tried my best and am proud of my performance.
The Culture
Almost all social interactions after work were organized by the interns. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of planned socials by the firm. Some of my colleagues at other firms said they had at least one social a week.
I expected London to be expensive, and it was.
There wasn't much of a nightlife in the area I worked in. However, there were plenty of places to get quick drink after work.
This depended on the team. Some teams enjoyed getting together after work. I wouldn't say there were many planned events outside of work exclusively for interns, but depending on the team and how close you were to the others there were opportunities to get involved.
