The Role
I really enjoyed my placement. People were very friendly, work was diverse and interesting and no days were the same. There was always something different happening each day.
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. I was given real responsibility, which I could see had an impact to the business and helped my team.
Joining the internship programme we were assigned to a buddy and a senior mentor who were extremely supportive over the course of the internship. In addition to that my immediate team and line manager were very supportive as well.
The first few weeks were not insanely busy as we were getting adjusted to our new roles and teams. Once week 4 came around it got extremely busy and there were a few late nights.
I was given plenty of responsibility, which made me feel valued by my team.
The skills developed over the course of this internship are very transferrable to any other job after this.
The Company
Very lively and welcoming. I will definitely miss my team.
The internship was extremely well organised. From the beginning with 2 days of training to speaker sessions and networking events. It was a very seamless experience!
The first few days of the internship were professional skills training and financial markets training. When we went to our desks we had internal training modules to complete by the end of the placement. While the training was good for the amount of time we were here, it would be good to have more technical training relevant to our specific area.

Company Parties/Events
Quite good. Most people I know were previous interns who are now full-time employees.
The Culture
There was a great social scene. Every Friday we would all go for drinks and have lunch together most days.
Cost of living in London is not cheap. Canary Wharf has some good bars but for better restaurants and to go clubbing Central London is a lot better.
Loads of bars in the area, which was great.
There were, however these were not advertised to us a lot. We had to research and find it out ourselves.
