The Role
Got placed with a team that had very little to do with actual finance/accounting work. Didn't learn that much and wasn't very challenging.
The team I was on was very nice and so were all of my colleagues.
You need to be very active in seeking support and guidance by management, they don't just give it to you. You may think you're doing a great job because you've completed all of your objectives but they want to see way more than that.
Some days were very busy, some days I sat around doing nothing.
After the first 3 weeks, I was given a lot of responsibility and had to turn down some extra work because I was balancing 4 or 5 different projects.
It wasn't a complete waste of time but I definitely would have preferred to do a role elsewhere.
The Company
The people were very nice and the atmosphere was positive but also seemed very bureaucratic.
Seemed like they just chucked you in with a team and didn't organise anything.
It's tough to say I got a lot of training and development over the course of 9 weeks.
Subsidised Canteen
You can receive an offer to be on the grad scheme for the following year. The area I interned in didn't appeal to me as much so I didn't think twice about saying no for a return.
The Culture
Decent social scene. Had drinks every Friday night
London is just very expensive regardless where you live.
Eh, it was decent.
One opportunity for a citizenship activity.
