The Role
Best internship I had so far
Every one was very keen to get to know us interns and tried respect our working hours fixed by HR
My staffer played a significant role during my internship, he was my staffer, my mentor and a friend as well. I was also assigned a mentor and a development officer but they were more senior, thus I was less exposed to them due to busy schedules.
Very busy because I had to squeeze all the work into 13 hours, until getting told to leave at 10pm. But still managed due to time management and growing efficiency.
Some responsibility, was able to sent materials to another Joint Global Coordinator bank every second week so I guess some responsibility.
Finance knowledge was helpful here.
The Company
Very cool, kind and open-minded people, I was lucky to sit with the Multi-Industrials team who has the best team culture in my opinion. Interns were invited to many team drinks as the teams tried to pitch themselves to us in this pooled intern system.
Very well organised, HR organised learning sessions every week, and generally operations were going on seamlessly.
A lot. We had training during the first week and on-going learning sessions every week. We had all software installed on our computers by the end of the first week which was very convenient because I remember during my last internship at another bank in London, it took technology 4 weeks at least to set up my programmes that I needed to do proper work. So thankfully everything at BofAML was set up.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I believe my chances are quite high because there are 3 teams that seem to enjoy working with me as I keep getting staffing requests and positive signs from all of them. I would love to start working here if I get the full time job offer at the end of the internship.
The Culture
I like my fellow summer interns, and I am happy to share a flat with a few of them. So on Friday nights, we hang out together and also during the weekends.
There is the Paternoster Square just down the street where lots of BofAML employees finish off the day to enjoy a drink with colleagues. We went there very often as well, also for team drinks or even the senior dinner event.
Paternoster Square Chophouse was the place to be. Good fun but closed down quite early.
Many networks were advertised to us in the beginning. Personally, I did not get involved very much, but only due to restricted working hours and stressful working days.
