The Role
I had an amazing year at IBM, I was given early responsible which I thrived upon.
My team were very welcoming and helping when I started my placement. Everyone worked hard together to complete the work. I will keep in touch will all of them.
I had a line manager within my team and we worked in the same office and had meetings weekly. I also had a Professional Development Manager who I met with on a monthly basis. Both were on hand if I needed any assistance.
My role was busy all year round, I had long hours most days in the week. This was not a negative though, I enjoyed the level of work.
I was given the responsibility or running the selection process for graduates and students and trusted to run with it.
I believe that all I learnt on my placement will help me in the future.
The Company
Everyone was hard working, but then on the other hand, everyone was friendly.
From day one, the organisation was spot on. The welcoming induction, the reviews and my day to day tasks.
I received training throughout and at the end of the placement I was nominated for a summer placement which involved travelling to the Global headquarters to present to the HR Global Leadership Team, so I was able to develop my presenting skills at an executive level.
