The Role
I have really enjoyed my internship because it has been first of all a very enriching experience: I had the opportunity to work with people coming from different backgrounds and cultures, I met a lot of different people from different divisions and this helped me understanding what was the main day by day activity of each of them, it has also been a learning experience. For all these reasons I really think it has been a unique experience and I would recommend it to everyone.
I really felt valued by my colleagues because they appreciated every single work I did and I felt like being part of the team.
During my internship I was supported by every single member of the team: from juniors to most senior members. my buddy's assistance was essential during this experience because she gave me the advices I needed and she explained me every single thing I was not able to understand.
The working hours were perfect - I think the team is very efficient and the time was managed in an excellent way.
I think that the responsibility I was given was the right amount related to the position I was covering.
I am sure that the skills developed during the internship and the training I received will help me during the last year of my MSc, because this allowed me to apply the things that I have studied to a working environment.
The Company
The environment in my office was very friendly - I was never afraid of asking questions and in the morning I was really looking forward to go to work.
The overall work placement and internship were perfectly organized - both HRs and Campus On Boarding team were very supportive and they organized a lot of training sessions and networking events, which I think were all very useful.
In my opinion the company invested a lot in all of the interns - I was feeling that Barclays really wanted us to make the most of this experience and I think it has successfully met its objective.
Company Parties/Events
I would really like to enjoy the team I was working with for a future employment, because I think Barclays is a perfect organisation to work within.
The Culture
I had the opportunity to go to some social events with the other interns, and this was a good opportunity to meet other students interning in different teams and learn about their experience.
Living and socializing in the area I worked in was quite expensive.
