The Role
I really enjoyed my internhsip here at Barclays. I was able to develop my personal skills by taking part in different projects during my internship. The culture here is really good because everyone tries to work together for a greater common goal. Moreover, as an intern I was able to be in touch with several different parts of the business, something that allowed me to get a better notion of what do people actually do in banking.
My colleagues were always very nice to me and everyone was always available to answer my queries, no matter how basic they were. They were very useful to get me to undertstand the business quickly so that I could deliver good quality work faster. On the other hand, everyone was available to listen to my findings in the end of the internship, even senior leaders, and they even provided me feedback regarding what I should improve in the future.
The work/life balance was really good during my internship. In one hand, I had plenty of projects to work on during my internship and I had to talk to as many people as I could to get the information I needed, which can be quite challenging. But on the other hand, my team developed several after-work activities that enabled me to get to know everyone even better, something I found very useful.
