The Role
During my work among Mobile Systems Team and Test Team I have learnt a lot of new skills made aware of the software development cycle from the practical side. I was involved in a real life projects and gained an invaluable experience in the industry.
I had a full support from my colleagues and a mentor assigned. Being involved in the project, the team relied on my part of work.
I've had comprehensive tutorial and regular feedbacks. Additionally I was awarded a mentor, who was directly provided me with support in everyday duties.
I can't remember me being bored. in a small team there were always outstanding issues which I could pick up and proceed.
A lot. I was responsible for testing one of the main components of the system.
Time at cognito gave me an idea of which sector of IT I fit. This helped me to undertake appropriate steps to put my career into correct path. As a result I returned to the company as well educated and certified employee. The placement year was also invaluable towards the final year at university, as I used the skills gained in Cognito for the final project.
The Company
Great! The team was like a family.
There were appropriate path developed to incorporate placement students into the company life and duties. The training provided was outstanding and benefitted in reasonably quick settling with the team.
I've had full access to plenty of training materials, also help received from my colleages was outstanding.

The Culture
Yes.
Difficult to say, I was living (still am) in a different town, not being much involved in the local area life.
