The Role
I have really enjoyed my time during the Internship. It was a great way to get a wide range of practical experience together with improving and developing a lot of skills. I was given interesting and valuable tasks since the beginning and everyone in the company was very supportive and helpful with any queries.
My colleagues have always been very nice and supportive to me. They were open to any of my questions and were always ready to explain everything I needed and was interested to know about. They gave me a great range of tasks, which allowed me to be involved in working on many different tasks.
My manager has always been helpful and asking me if I need anything, how I feel about the work I am given and was always willing to support me with any aspects. We arranged a weekly catchup over the length of my Internship which was a great way to provide a weekly overview of the daily tasks and how am I getting on.
It took some time to finish all of the Mandatory training at the beginning and get to know the role and the tasks at the beginning. Since then I was always given a variety of interesting tasks, and as the Internship continued I was always introduced to more tasks. My manager and colleagues were happy to give me more tasks when I asked for them, in order to make sure that I am satisfied with the workload and busy enough.
I think I was given an appropriate range of responsibility, I was developing my knowledge and understanding of the job and my responsibilities over the time, and I was given tasks which had to be done by other colleagues before I joined the scheme. When my colleague was on Holiday I was given her tasks to cover which contributed to my faster learning and gave me a greater understanding of my role and what is required to do it effectively.
There was a good amount of interesting Mandatory Training, including Professionals Bankers Course. I think that the skills I developed are transferable and important and would definitely help me in both my further studies and career.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great in general, everyone was very friendly and supportive to each other, people seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves, which I believe leads to better work satisfaction and influences everyone else in the office.
I think it was organised well in general- before we started we were given Newsletters and were introduced to our line managers, and we were given Information during the Internship regularly too. We had several Webex set-up for us regarding various topics such as Interview Skills, an overview of the Graduate roles led by the Graduates. We were supported well during the Internship and the process of final Calibration was explained well too.
There was the Mandatory Training which covered a lot of topics and served as a good understanding of the role, Bank and the Banking Industry in general. My colleagues and my line manager invested their time in my training as well.

The prospects of future employment are great, as the Bank is performing well and it offers a very interesting Graduate Programme which consists of 4 different placements around the whole UK, during which it is possible to gain Nationwide qualifications such as Chartered Banker, Six Sigma or APMP.
The Culture
There was a great interaction between the other Interns and we developed friendships that will last for a long time. We were all placed in the same student accommodation which was great to get to know each other very well, and we very often used to spend time together after work and during the weekends.
It was reasonable to UK standards.
It was great, there were many bars and nightclubs in the area where we lived, as all of us Interns lived together in the city centre. We took advantage of it during the weekends.
We were all involved in the Charity Challenge, which was a great way to come up with innovative ideas, get to know many other colleagues, network, meet many people and organise Charity Events which were enjoyed by colleagues while raising funds and awareness for Mental Health UK.
