The Role
BSH Home Appliances was a very friendly and welcoming organization. My placement was very interactive with most other departments in the company giving me a good insight into other career paths.
My colleagues were friendly and supportive making me feel valued.
I had regular catch-up meetings with my manager for any extra support I needed. Other colleagues also offered their time to show me/help me with tasks.
Work fluctuated throughout the year but there was always a steady income of work for me to complete.
I shared some responsibility along-side other colleagues on some projects. I had one main task that was my responsibility to monitor and drive and this projected was continuous throughout my placement year.
A lot! I developed networking skills and interpersonal skills in how to develop in the business world.
The Company
I worked in an open plan office, this gave people the opportunity to interact with colleagues in different teams which was a good way to network, therefore, the general atmosphere in the office was energetic.
I was part of the second intake of interns so the company was still developing the program, however, the placement overall provided excellent opportunities for me including a training program, and an effective induction plan.
The company introduced intern training which included project management training, customer service training, time management training, meeting management training and presentation skills. I was part of the trial year of this program to see how beneficial this would be and any amendments for the future. I was also provided with brand and product training due to the needs of my role.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
The organization has shown some potential for future employment prospects.
The Culture
Yes, the intern community as a whole made the placement an even better experience. We all lived pretty close to each other and regularly met up outside of work.
Fairley average pricing. You can get to London and back and have unlimited travel around the city for under £20.
Milton Keynes best club was Pink Punters - a good all rounder night out. Not too expensive..
This is dependent on your department. My department did a few activities throughout the year.
