The Role
It was amazing and exceeded my expectations.
They were all very lovely and gave meaningful tasks.
The objectives were crystal clear.
It was a really good balance where you have time to do work on the desk, but still have time to meet other representatives from the bank.
The team starts depending on you with tasks if you show initiative.
The training was very useful and I now have a clearer view of what different teams within the bank do.
The Company
It was very friendly - in other words, a lot of banter.
It was organized really well and HR always check-in with you to ensure that everything is going well.
The first three days were great as you are given an overview of the bank as a whole as various lines of business come and give you brief presentations about what they do. We were also given access to Bloomberg which is super awesome!
They are great and are now on a recruiting cycle.
The Culture
Yes, we had numerous team drinks, but that is very team dependent I would say.
It's more expensive than other areas in London, but you get paid enough to afford those slightly more expensive drinks.
Canary Wharf doesn't have the best nightlife, but it is only 20minutes away from Piccadilly Circus.
Citizenship Day is an awesome way to volunteer, even though it is optional. Charities come and present you with some of the challenges which they face on a daily basis and you try and come up with the best feasible solution for them.
