The Role
Great. It was a unique insight into the actuarial profession, and a great thing to put on you cv.
Very, I was always put hard to work, and never treated as inferior. Very welcoming colleagues, got along very well.
Quite a lot, regular 1 to 1s and all assigned buddies.
Varied, sometimes flat out but at other times it was a bit more relaxed. Friday's are very calm in the office.
Quite a bit, but only after I had proved myself.
I do a Maths degree so not much, but I'm sure it wil help in my modules for next year.
The Company
Cracking! Never dull. Always chatter, which is against the stereotypical actuary!
Could be improved.
A lot. A lot of training sessions and talks were set up for the interns. This was invaluable
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Good, there's a graduate scheme set up for Actuarial which runs separately from the main grad scheme, so I am definitely applying,
The Culture
Yes, there's always something on. From leaving drinks to intern drinks to just general socials, you were never bored. As well as bars, there were also sporting opportunities etc.
Quite expensive, to be expected as the office is right next to princes street.
Very good, Port Hamilton is right next to georges street.
Yes, countless.
