The Role
Ive learnt many things throughout the internship and gained valuable networking skills. The internship was also well structured.
My colleagues were helpful and welcoming, and forgiving towards a first-timer. I appreciated their guidance and felt I was contributing to the team.
My supervisors were extremely helpful and supportive of my work. I felt valued by them and have also bonded with my team members throughout the internship.
Busy- was given things to do and had sufficient work to fill my time.
I was given much more responsibility than I expected at the start of the internship. I was able to grasp hold of many concepts and thus was taking much more charge of my own work.
To a considerable extent, the networking, interaction and management skills , and the feedback gained from mentors can be applied to my future working environment.
The Company
Interesting, since line managers organised occasional tea and ice-cream breaks.
Well organised, except for the fact that sometimes information / instructions could be clearer , esp submission of reports, deadlines, content etc.
Yes, there are considerable prospects since I have been offered a graduate job with them.
The Culture
Yes, since there are drinking sessions organised weekly by fellow interns.
It was expensive, especially London and being in the City. More allowances can be given to subsidise our daily expenditure/transport costs.
Reasonable pubs nearby.
Yes, as there was a charity/fund raising event that was organised by the RBS internship team as well. This allowed us to do things outside of work, e.g. bake sale.
