    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I hugely enjoyed my internship at LBG. It is something I would highly recommend and I would love to work for the company following my experience.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team that I worked with in London was hugely welcoming from Day 1. I socialised a lot with them and felt genuinely respected and valued by all.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The senior manager in my office and my line manager together ensured that I always had the support and guidance I needed. I also had an unofficial mentor and grad buddy both of whom were exceptionally warm and helpful.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had a good amount of work and proactively created work for myself but I would have been given some more tasks purely to gain a deeper insight into the group's operations.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Due to the nature of the work that my team was conducting it was difficult to be given much personal responsibility but everyone ensured that I could assist them whenever it was appropriate.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed a number of skills during my time at LBG including increased confidence in networking, team management (leading my team of interns in a challenge), business etiquette and a professional banking qualification.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Perhaps it was my office personally but the atmosphere/vibe was very friendly and approachable. I felt the confidence to sit next to anyone and ask them what they were doing and all my colleagues were very fun. The banter was top quality with the people at my desk and everyone had a motivated by friendly attitude in their day to day workings.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Periodic webinars/meetings designed for interns ensured that any questions we had were answered by HR. The guidance given to my line manager was perfect meaning that the internship moved seamlessly through the weeks.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested greatly in me personally with many training and development events. This was brilliant as it gave a whole other dimension to my internship.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Fully respectable, engaging and innovative organisation that I would love to work for in the future. My experience on this internship contributed fully positively towards my experience at the group.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good amongst colleagues as they were very welcoming and keen to invite me for drinks/lunch with them. OK amongst the interns, partly due to the fact that there weren't many in my office, but also yes...

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Very expensive to be expected in London. Managed to find cheaper places to eat/socialise as the weeks went on but was still quite spenny.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London is always popping off, mad nights, good crack, lots of dancing. Cargo always delivers.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was an intern challenge run over the 10 week stretch which was a brilliant way to socialise with peers. As well as this there were constantly advertised days out and group activities.
