The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement as ut gave me a great insight into how things work in a large scale global company. It also gave me the opportunity to develop current skills such as communication and develop new skills such as my knowledge of excel.
I feel like my colleagues valued me as part of their team and were thankful for my help on the team.
My manage gave me support with any activity or job I had to do if I needed it.
I was given enough work to be kept busy most the time and I never got overloaded with work. Although there were a few occasions where I had nothing to do but after communicating with my manager I soon had something to do.
I was given a high level of responsibilities during my placement, and was given the opportunity to do many important jobs on the project I was on
The skills I have developed helped me a lot with collating data and I can see this really helping me in other aspects in the future. Also it has strengthened my communications skills as well as making me a stronger independent worker.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was always positive and everyone was happy to talk, whether that be work related or just a general chat.
The organisation of the placement was ok. I had a few jobs and other things lined up for me when I came but I didn't have any set list of things I was going to be doing during the placement.
Company Parties/Events
Given the opportunity to come back to GSK I would take it immediately. The placement has shown me exactly what it is like to work at GSK and it is definitely a place I would like to be employed at in the future
The Culture
The other placement students were lovely and really easy to get along with. we frequently met up for chats and lunch throughout the placement.
No more than usual as I live in the area
Standard night life. Nothing great, but not bad
Some activities were setup outside of work by the placement students themselves, but nothing was arrange by the company
