The Role
Very enjoyable 10 weeks, good work and life balance, motivating and positive environment. I would definitely recommend this internship to other students and would definitely consider taking the graduate role.
Colleagues understand the importance of guidance and mentorship, career and personal development is very valued.
You are aligned with a line manager throughout your 10 weeks, they assign you most of the tasks and ensure you have clear instructions. Apart from them being available almost any time of the day for a quick chat there are two 1-1 meetings a week where you set and review assigned tasks. Overall support received was very good.
Good amount of work to keep you occupied and not stay late. It is up to you to demonstrate that you are able to complete work of high quality and in good time, the more you ask the more tasks you will be assigned.
A variety of tasks, some with very little responsibility like admin work some required updating internal procedures and documents that are available to the whole bank.
Skills developed will assist with work in the financial industry.
The Company
Positive and lively atmosphere, teams are very closely connected. Everyone is very approachable and you get the chance to very senior people.
Internship was well organised. Induction week in Scotland with all the RBS interns, Lunch and Learn Sessions, CSR Challenge and several cross RBS socials allow you to get to know interns across the whole program. Your line manager is always there to help you out and ensure you understand the tasks that were assigned to you.
Several e-learning modules available online.
