The Role
Enjoyed the internship a lot, was given a lot of responsibility.
Highly Valued, Treated more like an actual developer rather than an intern.
I was expected to at least try and fix my issues on my own but if I could not find a solution than my manager was more than happy to point me in the right direction
Some periods were busier than other but I never felt like I was over worked. There were deadlines but as long as one has strong planning and organisational skills then it should be fine
Was allowed to work on a project all by myself and present what I made to business users so I believe I was given a lot of responsibility
There were weekly speak series which helped understand what the bank does as a whole, but there was also a division specific series which helped us understand what was happening within my current division, Also got the chance to learn a completely new programming language in which I was supported by my manager
The Company
Very relaxed, Brilliant atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and easily approachable. You get assigned a buddy so if there were any question you were afraid to ask your manager you could ask your buddy instead.
Very well organised, had weekly speaker sessions.
We had quite a lot of talks with senior management, and were given a lot of opportunities to access material to learn new skills.
As long as you have good work ethic, and get your work done then the prospects for employment are great
The Culture
Yes, We had regular event between the interns.
Based in London, So it was expensive
