  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enjoyed the internship a lot, was given a lot of responsibility.

  • Highly Valued, Treated more like an actual developer rather than an intern.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was expected to at least try and fix my issues on my own but if I could not find a solution than my manager was more than happy to point me in the right direction

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some periods were busier than other but I never felt like I was over worked. There were deadlines but as long as one has strong planning and organisational skills then it should be fine

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was allowed to work on a project all by myself and present what I made to business users so I believe I was given a lot of responsibility

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were weekly speak series which helped understand what the bank does as a whole, but there was also a division specific series which helped us understand what was happening within my current division, Also got the chance to learn a completely new programming language in which I was supported by my manager

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very relaxed, Brilliant atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and easily approachable. You get assigned a buddy so if there were any question you were afraid to ask your manager you could ask your buddy instead.

  • Very well organised, had weekly speaker sessions.

  • We had quite a lot of talks with senior management, and were given a lot of opportunities to access material to learn new skills.

  • As long as you have good work ethic, and get your work done then the prospects for employment are great

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, We had regular event between the interns.

  • Based in London, So it was expensive

  • Based in London, So it was expensive

  • Yes, There were a lot of opportunities to volunteer for charities, and management actively encourage this
