The Role
Overall everything went well. The company and the assignments were quite much what I expected them to be. Team members were nice, Some things could have done in a more clear/rational way.
Most colleagues were helpful and friendly and really showed me that I am appreciated. Some people were a bit less approachable and sometimes even grumpy if you "bothered" them, like they didn't have time for me.
I had two managers during my internship. My first manager didn't really manage me at all, so I mostly got help/feedback from an other more approachable senior member of the team. My second manager was great, he had a great sense of humour and we got along very well.
It depended on a day, but overall I had quite OK amount of work. There were a few days I didn't have enough work.
I would say that the assignments required that much responsibility. I also believe that there are no responsible tasks during first months or so, so expectations were fulfilled.
My education is highly theoretical so I am not sure if this experience will assist me in studies (future working life is a different thing)
The Company
Could have been better, I think people were quite concentrated on their work, I would have appreciated if people would have approached me more, not me being always the one who approaches to them. Though, every time I did approach someone on non-work thing people were nice.
At the beginning everything seemed organised. Then, before joining the company I was required to send dozens of documents, some of them multiple times to different and same places, via online portal, email, post... So that could have been handled better. I also would have loved to receive an email which would have stated clearly EVERYTHING I need to do prior the internship/during first weeks (NI number, bank account things, renting an apartment etc. etc.), now I feel that I had information on so many sources it was hard to keep up.
Some of the trainings were good an actually educational/helpful. Other training sessions were not that important and could have skipped.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
I would be very surprised in case I didn't get a job here.
The Culture
Yes, the interns were awesome and I enjoyed spend time with them. I liked how we were allowed to get to know each other before the actual employment, it helped a lot as we all were sitting in different floors/boxes.
Rent including expenses £ 375 per week, socialising depends on where you go but London prices thus expensive
This is London City.
We organised ourselves among interns. Organized by the company, few.
