The Role
I absolutely loved my internship, the rotational programme gave me exposure to different parts of the division and I learnt huge amounts.
Extremely valued, I was taken to a lot of meetings and asked for my opinion constantly.
I was given constant advice and feedback meetings to check I was on track.
It really varied depending on what the business was doing and whether you were on a flow desk or not.
Again, it depended on how busy the desk were, the busier the desk the more responsibility I was given.
Massively, I have learnt a huge amount, broadened my network and picked up several soft skills which I am able to now take forward.
The Company
The atmosphere differed from desk to desk, but on a flow desk there was a lot of activity and it was extremely lively, for instance.
Very well organized, graduate recruitment did an excellent job in ensuring everyone had a desk suited to them and the events were well in sync with the actual programme.
Huge investment was made and much time was spent from senior management in guiding and lecturing to us.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing, I hope to receive an offer. The programme has definitely spurred me on to wanting to work at the bank permanently.
The Culture
Absolutely, the 2017 class really made an effort to interact with each other outside of the workplace which made it even more enjoyable.
I lived at home so I didn't have to pay rent, but I believe other interns paid roughly £200 pw to live near the office.
The nightlife was fun, but I have grown up in London. I believe for interns that did not, they thoroughly enjoyed it.
There was the corporate social responsibility day on which everyone was involved in a charity activity away from the office.
