The Role
It was amazing! It was challenging work, but at the same time really rewarding.
The company puts you on real work, that has been already started by senior engineers, your job is to improve upon their work. They are happy to have someone help on their projects, and this is shown by the level of passion they express when interacting with you.
weekly casual meetings with an expert on the project you are doing, where you can discuss problems and how to further improve the project.
Always busy, due to the challenging nature of the work it is easy to get stuck and spending days on a single problem.
If tasks are carried out correctly and good work is carried out the team is happy to take your improvements and embed them in actual shippable projects.
All the tasks carried out will help me in my years to come at university, especially math and programming related exercises
The Company
Quiet and chilled, mostly due to the nature of the work, for a more fun atmosphere I suggest having someone introducing all interns around the whole office at the start.
Very organised, didn't have any issue with not having equipment. Someone can jump in from day one.
One day at the start of the placement
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
I will look into the company for graduation!
The Culture
The internship is with 10 fellow interns, whom you share some of the office space with, have lunch together and meet from day one.
If you're a Southampton student it is perfect as you don't need to rent another place somewhere else.
its great
there is the opportunity
