The Role
I enjoyed the work I did on placement a great deal.
I felt very much valued by my colleagues, and was respected in the workplace.
I was given support by my colleagues whenever I requested it, in a reasonably timely fashion
I was kept busy almost the entire time, whilst I was only busy to the extent I was "stressed" for a very small proportion of my time here
I was given as much responsibility as one reasonably could be, given I was on a trading floor
The most useful skill I've augmented is the ability to separate and organise work in an efficient manner, which will of course be very useful in the remainder of my degree
The Company
The atmosphere was friendly. Although some people were too busy to talk at certain times, there was almost always an effort made to make up for that at a later moment
The internship was extremely well organised, operating practically hitch free
The investments made in me by the firm were clear, large and gave me confidence in my own ability to do the job
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
From what I have seen, very appealing
The Culture
The social side between fellow interns was very good, with all the interns I interacted with on a day to day basis being friendly and amenable, social events between interns outside of the office, were not frequent, but they were enjoyable when they did occur.
The cost of living was very high, but we were more than suitably compensated to account for this
The nightlife was perfectly good enough to enjoy
There were occasionally but they were infrequent
