The Role
Overall it was a great experience that gave me a good understanding of a professional working environment.
My colleagues made me feel welcome and part of the team.
A good amount of guidance was given in the work I was set and support was always available if I had any questions.
Occasionally I wouldn't have loads to do but this was to be expected since there is a limit to what I can do with the knowledge I have.
I was given a good amount of responsibility and help was always available if I got stuck on anything.
There were many different opportunities available to develop old/new skills through, i.e webinars and computer software training.
The Company
Casual atmosphere.
Very well organised, I came across no problems with the internship set up and everything was explained clearly from start to finish.
Personal development goals were set at the start of the internship and discussed throughout through weekly catch ups with my line manager. Since I was only there for 10 weeks there wasn't enough time to train as thoroughly as the placement year students did.
Very friendly, welcoming place to work.
The Culture
I lived at home rather than the shared accommodation so did not get involved in much of the social scene, however those that did live together did a lot.
I was in London so obviously travel and food is fairly expensive but I was living at home so this wasn't really a problem.
There are obviously many clubs/bars in London so nightlife is good.
Lots of charity fundraising activities, these involved charity runs and quizzes. They also run Pilates classes at the office I was working in.
