The Role
Was well involved in the team and treated as a full time member of staff. Project work was independent although at times when colleagues were busy was left to get on fully independently
Felt very valued by colleagues.
A lot of support available from my supervisor , I received a lot of training prior to starting the project and continued progress monitoring throughout.
I was never bored or stuck for things to do on my placement.
Had a project Title to complete, and a
Placement was unrelated to my degree, however I developed presentational and interpersonal skills.
The Company
A large open plan office and therefore lively buzzing atmosphere, generally stimulating place to work although at times could be distracting.
Well set up with clear overall plan of what I would be involved in throughout the year, although more time to write up my uni project would have been beneficial.
I learnt how to complete scientific reports to submit internally and practiced giving presentations on several occasions.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
I would definitely consider working at GSK again/ applying for future job.
The Culture
Welcoming and friendly and went to a few social events with the team- team building exercises and after works drinks etc.
Average price
Lots of decent pubs but only one club and not great!
Attended several social activities
