The Role
I found the Savills Summer Scheme the most rewarding experience I have taken part in to date. I rotated around Investment, Retail, Development (Commercial & Residential), Property Management and Business Space (Industrial & Offices). I gained a massive amount of knowledge from each department and would definitely recommend the placement to 3rd year Undergraduate students.
I felt very welcome by all of my colleagues. I was introduced to everyone; including client meetings and property viewing.
If I needed help, everyone was there to answer questions; there is no such thing as a stupid question.
Workload is dependant on how busy the department is. However, I was given a sufficient amount of tasks on a daily basis that would keep me busy and would also let me gain knowledge from.
I was given a sufficient amount of responsibility as a placement student would expect; not too much.
The skills I have learned on my placement has been extremely useful I feel for my further studies and also for the graduate recruitment process. I feel that I have expanded on the knowledge I have gained from university and applied it in practice.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and the sociable aspect to the office is also very good.
Everything was set up excellently. I had access to my email address on the first day and everything ran smoothly throughout the process.
The company would help me whenever I needed help.
Company Parties/Events
I am very interested and dedicated to secure a place on a graduate scheme with Savills.
The Culture
Regular drinks were arranged with the graduates. It was great to socialise with them and gain their knowledge and experiences.
Glasgow as a city is not too expensive therefore living and socialising is not as expensive; in relation to some other UK cities.
Glasgow is known for its nightlife. Make sure you experience this.
There were many opportunities arrange however after I had left. Savills as a company always has a great amount of events planned.
