The Role
During my 10 weeks at Citi, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. From early on, I have received a lot of responsibility, be that helping to draft the Initial Credit Memos / Annual Reviews or
All the colleagues I have worked with are extremely helpful and nice. They take time out of their busy days to explain concepts to you that you might not understand. Additionally, rather than just assigning some tasks to you, they are very careful about giving it a context, so that you understand the bigger picture. Therefore, you understand why you are doing something, rather than only understanding what you need to do.
All the supervisors are up front with you - if you do a good job, they will make sure to communicate that and if you do a bad job, the same applies. However, they are very helpful in providing you with feedback of what you need to improve, rather than just leaving you in the dark.
The hours on an absolute basis are quite long, but if you are enjoying what you are doing, they do not seem that long at all.
You receive a lot of responsibilities from early on, with projects that need to be finished by the end of the summer and you are the only person working on it. Additionally, if you prove yourself and you prove that you are capable, you will receive more and more complex tasks/responsibilities.
All the skills I learned can be applied in many fields - be that communication, pitching, modelling, excel or team-work.
The Company
you work hard but at the end of the day you will also have fun.
The internship was very well organized, with HR doing team building events and drinks on a regular basis. It helped to get to know other interns outside your division.
you will receive a one week training in the beginning, where you will learn the basics skills you need to survive. However, most of the stuff that will enable you to perform well, will be learnt on the job.

Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Its an extremely diverse company, where the opportunities are endless. Be that wanting to move to a different location or to a different product team.
The Culture
Other interns are extremely nice, we helped each other a lot, rather than competing with each other.
Canary wharf is quite expensive but it is close to work.
There is not much to do on Canary Wharf over the weekend.
There are a lot of sports clubs that you can join.
